  • Advanced specialisation in vitreoretinal diseases in adults and children at Moorfields Eye Hospital, Beaumont Hospital and Children's Hospital, Los Angeles.
  • Introduced to the UK, endoscopic vitrectomy surgery for retinal detachment in retinopathy of prematurity (ROP).
  • One of two surgeons in the world with significant experience and expertise in endoscopic vitrectomy for infants and young children with complex paediatric vitreoretinal diseases.
  • Vitreoretinal surgery, novel surgical techniques, surgical instrumentation.
  • Paediatric vitreoretinal surgery, endoscopic vitrectomy in children, paediatric retinovascular disease, retinopathy of prematurity, Coats' desease, FEVR, Incontinentia pigmenti.

  • UK Chief Investigator & Principal Investigator (Moorfields-Homerton) for the RAINBOW trial in retinopathy of prematurity, an international randomised controlled trial of intravitreal Lucentis versus standard-of-care retinal laser therapy.
  • Two journal editorial boards - Vitreoretinal Section Editor of CML Ophthalmology and Journal of Ophthalmology.
  • Over 100 national and international conference presentations.
  • Over 20 surgical courses as lead or co-instructor, UK and international. Current lead course instructor on complex vitreoretinal surgery at the American Academy of Ophthalmology annual conference, the largest international clinical and surgical meeting.
