Last week Good Morning Britain launched their campaign to promote regular sight tests for children.
Moorfields Private Consultant Eye Surgeon Mr Rob Henderson was interviewed by ITV’s Charlotte Hawkins (Right) live from the Richard Desmond Children’s Eye Centre about children’s eye health and some of the more serious conditions seen at Moorfields Eye Hospital. Alongside Rob, Becky Macphee, paediatric imaging specialist, also demonstrated some of the equipment used to look at the retina, the light sensitive layer that lines the interior of the eye. See the interview in full here.
More information on some of the symptoms and warning signs in children which Mr Henderson says to look out for can be found here.
As part of the campaign, Good Morning Britain is also asking people to share selfies of their eyes. You can get involved on Twitter using #GMBEyeCanSee
