What to expect when you come to Moorfields

Many Moorfields patients do not need to stay overnight after treatment. Day surgery means that you will be admitted on the day of your operation and will go home that evening. If you are anxious and do not want to come to the appointment on your own, please feel free to bring a friend or relative.

When you come into the hospital, bring any tablets, inhalers and eye drops you use with you. If you wear spectacles or contact lenses, bring them along as well. We also suggest that you bring your slippers, toiletries and a towel as you may want to freshen up after surgery. We will provide you with a theatre gown and a dressing gown. You will have been told whether you are required not to eat or drink, and from what time. If you have any questions about this, please contact the Patient Care Co-ordinator on 0207 566 2600.

Aftercare

If you have any questions about your treatment, and any aftercare required, please contact the Cumberlege Wing or the consultant who treated you directly.

Basic aftercare information is available from the following sources:

Moorfields NHS Trust

NHS Direct

Patients who have any urgent inquiries about their aftercare are requested to contact the Cumberlege Wing as soon as possible.
