Professional honour for Moorfields Private consultant

Professor Peng Tee Khaw, one of Moorfields Private’s leading consultants assumed his latest role as President for the Association for Research in Vision and Opthalmology (ARVO) this month.
ARVO is the world’s largest eye and vision research organisation with more than 12,000 eye and vision researchers across 80 countries. The association promotes research, training, publication and knowledge-sharing in vision and ophthalmology.
Professor Khaw has been an ARVO member since 1990 and has served as both member and chair of the Glaucoma Section Programme Committee. Professor Khaw has won many international prizes for his work and his impressive academic track record includes the publication of more than 350 papers, chapters and books including ‘The ABC of Eyes’ which is the UK’s most popular ophthalmology book for GPs and medical students.
Professor Khaw commented: “I am very honoured to have been selected to this prestigious role. I look forward to working with the other Trustees and ARVO staff to support and encourage colleagues across the globe to further research into eye conditions, which will become ever-more important as our populations age and new diseases come to light.
Professor Khaw specialises in children’s eye conditions and glaucoma and is located at the Moorfields Private Richard Desmond Children’s Eye Centre.
