Expertise in Medical retina fellowship in uveitis at Moorfields Eye Hospital. Won national scholarship to undertake clinical training in glaucoma at Jules Stein Eye Institute, UCLA, Los Angeles. In this time undertook postdoctoral research in techniques to identify visual field progression in glaucoma.

Mark is a Surgical Trainer for the Royal College of Ophthalmologists where he supervises the training of surgeons in microsurgery and modern phacoemulsification cataract surgery.

Mark has a large private practice based at The London Clinic in Harley Street and in the private wing of Moorfields Eye Hospital. He carries out over 1200 private consultations a year and carries out 170+ lasers and surgeries (a mix of cataract surgery, femtosecond laser assisted cataract surgery and complex glaucoma surgery) in addition to those he performs on the NHS.

 
Mark has published 18 scientific papers and presented over 30 times at international meetings. He is an honorary Senior Lecturer at the Institute of Ophthalmology and continues to play an active role in research. His research interests include looking at the early detection of glaucoma, and uveitis.
He is also a peer reviewer for several leading research journals.
 

Mark coaches the London Wasps “minis” junior rugby team at the weekends. He is also a keen amateur astronomer.
