I have active programmes of research into ocular infections (principally keratitis) and inflammatory diseases of the anterior segment (particularly mucous membrane pemphigoid). These studies utilize epidemiological, clinical and laboratory techniques and I currently have a research optometrist and a PhD student in my research group working in these fields.
In addition I supervise clinical research into corneal transplant surgery and ocular surface disease with several of the junior staff and colleagues at Moorfields and with other collaborators.
